Overview

About Kling 4.0

Kling 4.0 is Kuaishou's newest Kling video model, and in Masonry it covers four jobs through four fal endpoints. Text-to-video builds a clip from a written brief. Image-to-video starts from an image you supply and can land on an optional end frame. Reference-to-video places the people, products, or places from up to 10 reference images into a new scene, and you point at each one in the prompt as @Image1, @Image2, and so on. Video editing takes a 3 to 30 second clip you upload and changes it according to a text instruction, with optional reference images for what should appear. Every mode outputs 720p or 1080p, and the generation modes accept any whole-second duration from 3 to 30 seconds.

Sound is part of every render. fal's Kling 4 overview says the model generates dialogue, singing, sound effects, and ambience as two-channel stereo in sync with the picture, with speech in languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. There is no audio switch on these endpoints, so plan the soundtrack in the prompt, or mute and rescore the clip in your editor. For business teams, the practical change is range: one model now handles a 30-second product story told as several shots, a vertical ad built from approved product photos, and a revision of footage you already have. That editing mode is why Kling 4.0 is the model behind Masonry's video editing in the MCP edit_video tool and the Masonry CLI.

Prompts behind these Kling 4.0 videos

Actual prompts from Kling 4.0 renders by the Masonry community. Copy any prompt, then remix it into your own creation.

A humpback whale breaches out of a calm ocean at sunset, its whole body rising from the water and crashing back down in a huge white splash, spray glittering in the golden light. Slow aerial drone shot from a distance, rugged coastline in the background. Photorealistic nature documentary footage, natural ocean sound.

A rain-soaked narrow alley in Tokyo at night, glowing neon signs and paper lanterns reflected in the wet pavement. A young woman in a beige trench coat holding a clear umbrella walks slowly toward the camera as the camera dollies back in front of her, raindrops visible on the umbrella, steam rising from a ramen stall. Cinematic, shallow depth of field, gentle rain ambience.
Remix
Change the season to deep winter: fresh snow covers the hills, cliffs and roadside, the sea turns slate grey with white surf, a soft blue winter dusk light, the road itself stays clear and wet. Keep the cherry-red convertible, its path and the drone camera movement exactly the same.

Why teams choose Kling 4.0

Choose Kling 4.0 when one model has to cover generation and revision: a 30-second ceiling, multi-shot direction, up to 10 references, and an editing mode for footage you already have, all with stereo sound in the same render. For short clips where a reference must carry a specific person or product, MiniMax H3 Max and HeyGen Video are strong alternatives, and Seedance 2.5 and WAN 3.0 are worth comparing on the same brief when motion quality is the priority. HeyGen Video, up to 2K, and Gemini Omni Flash 1.1, up to 4K with Google listing its 1080p and 4K as upscaled, are the comparisons when you need more than 1080p. Kling O3 Standard remains in Masonry for 3 to 15 second clips with optional audio. Kling 4.0's clearest fit is longer business video and prompt-based editing, where switching models between draft and revision would cost more time than it saves.

Capabilities

What Kling 4.0 can do

The capabilities that set Kling 4.0 apart and earn its place in a brief

Edit a Video You Already Have

Upload a 3 to 30 second clip and describe the change, such as a new background, a different outfit, or a swapped product, and add reference images for what should appear. fal accepts source videos from 700 pixels per side and 23.9 to 60 fps, and the output length follows the source unless you set one.

Up to 10 Reference Images

Reference-to-video takes up to 10 images and builds a new scene around them. Name each input in the prompt as @Image1, @Image2, and so on, so it is clear which reference is the spokesperson, which is the product, and which is the location.

Clips From 3 to 30 Seconds

Choose any whole-second duration from 3 to 30. The short end suits a looping product beat or a bumper, and the long end has room for a complete 30-second spot or a short explainer in one generation.

Multi-Shot Prompts

Split one generation into shots, each with its own prompt and duration, and the clip length becomes the sum of the shots. That turns an establishing shot, a product close-up, and an end card into one directed sequence instead of three separate renders.

Native Stereo Audio

Dialogue, singing, effects, and ambience are generated as two-channel stereo in sync with the picture, and fal lists speech in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish among the supported languages. Audio is always on, so describe what should be heard.

Start and End Frames

Image-to-video animates from a start image you supply and can finish on an optional end image, so an approved packshot can open the clip and a second approved frame can close it. The output follows the start image's framing.

Use cases

Where teams reach for Kling 4.0

  • 30-second product spotsDirect an opening, a feature close-up, and a branded landing frame as a multi-shot sequence, then review the full spot before it goes to paid media.
  • Revising footage instead of reshootingChange the setting, season, wardrobe, or props in a clip you already own, and keep the original timing and camera move as the base.
  • Spokesperson and product scenes from referencesCombine an approved photo of a presenter with a product photo and a location reference to stage a scene that was never filmed, then check every frame against the references.
  • Vertical social adsGenerate 9:16 clips for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts with sound already in the file, keeping offer copy, price, and CTA as overlays added after review.
  • Animating an approved packshotStart from the exact product image your team signed off, add an end frame when the landing composition matters, and keep the motion restrained.
  • Localized dialogue draftsDraft spoken lines in one of the supported languages for a market test, then approve the script and pronunciation separately before anything ships.
  • Ultrawide hero videoRender 21:9 text-to-video for website headers, event screens, and presentation openers.
  • Storyboards with soundTest pacing, shot order, and audio cues together before briefing a production crew or an editor.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What teams need to know about creating with Kling 4.0 in Masonry

What is Kling 4.0?

Kling 4.0 is Kuaishou's newest Kling video model. In Masonry it generates video from text, from a start image with an optional end frame, or from up to 10 reference images, and it edits videos you upload according to a text instruction. Clips run 3 to 30 seconds at 720p or 1080p with native stereo audio.

Can Kling 4.0 edit an existing video?

Yes. The video editing endpoint takes a source clip of 3 to 30 seconds and a written instruction, plus optional reference images. Describe the change and what should stay the same, and refer to the source as @Video1 in the prompt. It is the model behind Masonry's video editing in the MCP edit_video tool and the Masonry CLI.

How long can a Kling 4.0 video be?

Any whole-second length from 3 to 30 seconds for text-to-video, image-to-video, and reference-to-video. With a multi-shot prompt, the clip length is the sum of the shot durations. An edited video keeps the length of the source clip unless you set a different duration.

What resolutions does Kling 4.0 support?

Kling 4.0 outputs 720p or 1080p in every mode. Draft at 720p to explore pacing and composition, then render the version you keep at 1080p.

Which aspect ratios can Kling 4.0 generate?

Text-to-video supports 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, and 21:9. Reference-to-video supports the same four plus auto, which adapts the frame to your references. Image-to-video follows the start image, so crop the source to the placement before you generate.

Does Kling 4.0 generate audio?

Yes. fal says Kling 4.0 generates dialogue, singing, sound effects, and ambience as two-channel stereo in sync with the picture, with speech in languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. The endpoints have no audio switch, so audio is always on. Describe the sound you want, or mute the track in your editor if you plan to add a voiceover.

How many reference images can Kling 4.0 use?

Reference-to-video accepts up to 10 reference images. Address each one in the prompt as @Image1, @Image2, and so on, and give each referenced subject a clear role so the model knows which image is the person, which is the product, and which is the setting.

Does Kling 4.0 support start and end frames?

Yes. Image-to-video takes a required start image and an optional end image, and the model moves from one to the other. Two approved frames fix where the clip begins and lands, but the motion between them is generated, so review the whole clip, not just the endpoints.

What is a multi-shot prompt in Kling 4.0?

A multi-shot prompt splits one generation into shots, each with its own prompt of up to 512 characters and its own duration. The video runs for the sum of the shot durations, which lets you direct a short sequence, such as an establishing shot, a detail, and an end frame, in a single render.

How is Kling 4.0 different from Kling O3?

In Masonry, Kling 4.0 extends the clip ceiling from 15 to 30 seconds, generates stereo audio with every clip, takes up to 10 reference images, and adds editing of an uploaded video. Kling O3 Standard is still available in Masonry for 3 to 15 second clips with optional audio.

Can I use Kling 4.0 for product videos?

Yes, with the usual review discipline. Use an approved product photo as the start image or as a reference, keep the motion restrained, and watch the full clip, then inspect evenly spaced frames against the exact SKU. Check the silhouette, label text, logo, color, material, part count, and quantity, and reject any clip that alters the sold item or shows a surface your sources never did. Generated in-between frames can illustrate a transition but cannot prove how a mechanism works. Keep prices, claims, offers, and disclosures out of the generated pixels and speech, and add them as overlays you can approve and update.

What happened to Kling O3 Pro and Kling O1 Reference in Masonry?

Masonry retired both in November 2026, and their pages now redirect here. Kling 4.0 covers what each did, start and end frames with multi-shot direction like O3 Pro, and scenes built from references addressed with @ tags like O1 Reference (Character Lock), with longer clips, more references, and stereo audio. Kling O3 Standard is still available.

How much does Kling 4.0 cost in Masonry?

Masonry bills Kling 4.0 in credits by resolution and clip length, so a 1080p or longer clip costs more than a short 720p draft. The editor shows the exact credit cost before you generate.

Can I run Kling 4.0 from the command line?

Yes. Install the Masonry CLI with npx @masonryai/cli and sign in with masonry login. Run masonry models params kling-v4 to see the inputs the route accepts today, then generate or edit from the terminal. Video editing in the CLI uses Kling 4.0.

Can Kling 4.0 output be used commercially?

fal marks all four Kling 4.0 endpoints for commercial use. Review the current fal and Kuaishou terms for your project, and get consent before generating or editing a real person's likeness or voice.

How does my team use Kling 4.0 in Masonry?

Open a Masonry canvas, pick Kling 4.0 from the model selector, and describe the video you need: a product shot, an ad creative, a social post. Masonry generates it, then you refine, edit, and combine Kling 4.0 with other models in one workspace.

Is Kling 4.0 free to try?

New Masonry accounts get 50 free credits to try GPT Image 2.5 Flare. Kling 4.0 is included in every paid plan, and the editor shows the exact credit cost before you generate.

How do I write good prompts for Kling 4.0?

Write the prompt like a short shooting script. Name the subject, the action, the camera move, the setting, and what should be heard, and put each sound beside the moment that causes it. For reference-to-video, address every input by its tag, for example "@Image1 holds @Image2 up to the camera", and give each referenced subject one clear action. For multi-shot work, keep each shot to one beat and budget the durations so they add up to the length you want. For an edit, describe only the change and what must stay the same, and refer to the source clip as @Video1. Because audio is always generated, say "no dialogue" or "ambient sound only" when you plan to add a voiceover later. See the prompt gallery on this page for real Kling 4.0 prompts you can copy and adapt.
